Mount Washington was the Queen of the Winnipesaukee fleet and dominated the lake transportation business.  She was the fastest of the all steamers on lake Winnipesaukee-- New Hampshire's largest lake.

It was not uncommon for her to have transported over 60,000 people per season in the late 1800s.  uring this time, New Hampshire's White Mountain was the most popular destinations for vacation travelers and wealthy socialites.
